You will have noticed that the forums are not always available, and there appear to be some issues when they are. Please bear with us while we try to resolve this.

The problem with automatic logging on has, I think, been resolved. Thanks for your patience with this one.

Forum login issues

Postby nedsram » Thu Jun 23, 2016 11:29 am

Some people are having problems logging into the forums, especially using the Firefox browser. The problem is being caused by cookies stored for previous incarnations of the forum (poyntonforum).

To resolve this issue you will need to delete these cookies. For Firefox, do the following. (The procedure will be different for other browsers.)

1. Go to Tools->Options (top menu bar) then select the Privacy tab.
2. In the History section, click on remove individual cookies. A Cookies dialog box will appear.
3. In the Search box at the top, enter poyntonforum. Cookies for poyntonforum will then be shown. There may well be six of these.
4. Click on the Remove All button at the bottom. Be careful not to delete cookies for other web sites by mistake.

You can now dismiss the Cookies dialog box and close the Options tab.

You should then find that you can log into the forum without any problem.

If you are having problems logging in to the forum when using Google Chrome you need to follow the visual instructions on this page to delete the poynton forum cookies:

http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-c ... hrome.html

When you click into "All cookies and site data" you then need to search for poyntonforum and delete the cookies found. You should then be able to log in to the forum.
