There is a gap in the market now certainly. Maybe the Vernon will start offering banking services! It is possible that another bank will move in of course, Santander has tried to buy a few hundred RBS branches a couple of times in the last few years, and now they are going cheap. :-)

It is not just the counter service that is going in Poynton - we've lost most of the ATMs too, which some local businesses and organisations may be concerned about. I think there will only be 1 public one left in Poynton after this one closes.

You can in theory use the Post Office for most simple bank transactions, but you often need a pre-printed slip for the bank of your choice, which is not always available.
