... or as POYNTONIAN 1 suggests

... by the way, it doesn't see itself as a 'pub'

... the planning app title is : Change of Use from A2 Office to A3 Licensed Restaurant with Glazed Extension

There is not a public car park behind the "pub" , the car park belongs to the Coop !

Please don't tell me that it is to become a high class steak cafe, a place that the people have been crying out for.

The planning application states change of use from A2 Bank to mixed use A3 restaurant and A4 drinking establishment.
What kind of food will the restaurant be serving :?:

If not a public house what does the change of use to include A4 drinking establishment mean :?:

A bar : Go in , buy drink/ food , consume , leave.
A pub: Go in with kids, buy half a lager, sit down, watch tv like in home living room, play dominoes, nurse drink for an hour while reading newspaper, let the kids run round the place.

Why would anyone want the burden of calling their venue a pub these days? :?
