Good to see the line markers have been busy, shame they didn't make it all the way up to Siddington Road / Dickens Lane junction to put in Give Way markings.

The Line Marking Team at Cheshire East probably think ...... if you live in Poynton then you DON'T NEED ROAD MARKINGS (Shared Space), and if they don't live in Poynton then they won't realise that Shared Space ONLY APPLIES within the 'GATEWAYS' !!!

Try driving along Middlewood Road. Shared space means that they drive at you straddling the centre of the road and hoping you will move out of their way... Bring back the white lines here too.

I did drive over a small bump on Dickens lane this morning ! I feel that the contractors have done a good job, well done to them, and thank you .

The DfT traffic signs manual specifies rules about centre line markings, in particular this one:

4.6. On rural roads below 5.5 m in width, over-running of the carriageway edge can occur if centre line markings are provided, causing maintenance problems. Drivers might also expect a road marked with a centre line to be wide enough for opposing lanes of traffic to pass. In these circumstances the centre line should be omitted, but it would be helpful if edge of carriageway markings are then used.

We used Dickens Lane for the first time today since the resurfacing , it was a pleasure to drive on a road without craters or pot holes :clap
Lets hope this is a sign of things to come :)

Good job done - but as has been said before only what would be expected.

Yes, it does look good but I was just wondering how long it will before a utility company comes along and digs it up.

Huge burst on Dickens Lane between Clumber and London Road. United Utilities have put up temporary traffic lights around the large hole.
