Without having checked the amended timetable, the bus leaves Green Lane at XX:04 and currently is timed at Poynton Church at XX:15 leaving 15 mins to complete the journey to Argyle St for its return journey at XX:34 to arrive Green Lane in time for the XX:04 service.
How on earth can someone sat behind a desk decide that the bus can run quicker in off peak than in peak times??????
Has he/she ever driven through Poynton??????
And what time do they depart the Church in Peak Times if they still leave the terminus at the same time?????

My experience of using the P1 earlier in the year was that it was rarely on time, and usually anything between 5 and 20 minutes late. On one particularly bad occasion the driver still felt he had to have a break of nearly 10 minutes at Green Lane. By this time the bus was nearly 30 minutes late. Until the bypass is built and the pressure on the roundels is relieved, it will be impossible to run a round trip in 60 minutes except at the quietest times. By that time the P1 may be a distant memory.

On a number of occasions when running very late the P1 has run from Higher Poynton to Hazel Grove with a 'Sorry No Service' displayed on the bus.

Simply traveling the route and not picking up passengers to gain time. It has passed me and other intended passengers all agreed with management we are told.

There are people who rely on this bus late or not.

Cheshire East Council have published their revised recommendations for bus services from April 2018.

The final recommended route for Poynton appears to be:

Macclesfield - Tytherington - Kerridge - Bollington - Middlewood - Poynton - Woodford - Hazel Grove - Stockport

Well done to everyone who completed the consultation as it helped to retain a service serving Chester Road and Woodford as highlighted in the report.

Reports here including new proposed timetables in second link

The case for diverting the 392 from Poynton to Hazel Grove via Chester Road and Woodford Road rather than straight down the "mad mile" was both obvious and compelling - especially as the buses could not turn round at the park and ride. I would also like to thank those who argued in favour of retaining the P1 route between Poynton and Hazel Grove.

It still leaves Poynton as the only key service centre in the whole of CE with residents living within the town left without a bus service:

"Rural Community Implications

7.13 The implementation of the new network will resolve some of the accessibility impacts in rural communities, which were identified in the proposals at consultation.

The areas no longer having access to a bus service are,
Northern Poynton
Styal
High Legh, Little Bollington, Mere
Warmingham;
Worleston"

Realistically, there was no chance that CEC would retain both the 392 and the P1. What is being proposed is the best compromise possible with a single bus service. Far more people who would use the bus live west of the roundels than north of it.
