Lyme Park

Is it true that it is closed tomorrow because of snow ? We used to spend many an hour sledging there . Health and safety gone mad . Put up a sign Enter at your own Risk !

It's all going completely mad. I can well remember going up there 40+ years ago in heavy snow and tobogganing down the hills. Drove up from Stockport with friends and had a great morning. Uh well times do change.

They've also closes Quarry Bank for similar reasons - although in that case the Santa visits are going ahead, having been moved to the Apprentice House.

Blame the "blame culture". Slip on some ice and fall heavily, then sue the NT for as much in compensation as your "no win no fee" solicitor can squeeze out of them. Better just to shut the place down.

That's completely spot on. Everyone these days is so scared of litigation and insurance companies will just not countenance any risk.... even though that is what they are set up to do :mrgreen:

This country is run by lawyers, not the government.
