Burst water main

We're sorry about this and will try and get your taps flowing normally as quickly as we can.

For (probably) the minority who were not aware that there has been a flood opposite the oil terminal access road for a day now, this is where the problem is. The United Utilities tankers that were parked up at the Deanwater yesterday morning must have gone that way to reach Clifford Road. No further comment.

I've just received an automated phone call suggesting stocking up with water as they may have to turn off the supply.

Whilst we carry out repairs, we will need to turn the water supply off to customers on Chester Road, so you may wish to store some water whilst we do this.

We will continue to update this message until the repairs are complete and your water supply is back to normal so please keep checking back.

Thank you for your patience and our apologies for any inconvenience this is causing you today.

The engineers have just arrived on site to commence repairs.
I know this was reported yesterday afternoon because I did it, yet according to UU, it was only this morning they had a report.
3 way traffic lights have been implimented for Woodord Road junction and the two directions of Chester Road.

Thanks for the information Rostervor. A bit more useful than the above, which we also received by phone just now.

Our inspector and team of engineers have worked overnight trying to trace the burst, causing poor pressure in the SK12 area.

Unfortunately, they have still not been able to pinpoint the location of the burst. However, they have installed 2 new valves which has reduced the search area to approximately 100 metres of pipework.

They will return to site this morning to continue the work.

In the meantime, all properties should have water supply albeit, some customers may still be suffering from poor pressure.

We have arranged for a pallet of bottled water to be dropped off at the excavation site on Chester Road, near to the junction with Highfield Road.

We’re really sorry if you are still affected with poor pressure – thank you so much for your patience.
