Yet more never ending roadworks!

Postby toeknee77 » Tue Mar 06, 2018 10:05 pm

I see we have controlled traffic lights on Chester Road again tonight. I passed through tonight about 7.45pm but I hear the traffic was pretty bad during rush hour, it added another 30 minutes to my wife's journey home. It looked like they were digging a hole by the road. I believe the lights could be here for a fortnight. The road has been dug up and re-laid so many times no wonder there's problems with the utilities.

There are traffic lights on Coppice Road. Not a workman for days.

I went through those lights twice on Wednesday and not a workman in sight. Just two home owners looking into the hole and shaking their heads.

Bernard Cribbins sang a song about a hole in the ground, it went something like this.

There I was digging a hole in the ground so big and so round it was.
There was I digging it deep it was flat at the bottom and the side were steep, When along came a bloke in a Bowler which he lifted and scratched his head, Well we looked down the hole pour demented soul and he said dont dig there dig it elsewhere your digging it round and it ought to be square.

It Ends something like this.
A hole in the ground so big and sort round it was , Well its not there now the grounds all flat beneath it is the bloke in the Bowler Hat.

Would make a good signature tune for a local authority Perhaps :?: :D
