Google Maps - The London Road A6 Footpath ??

Postby AnotherWhingerLike_U » Mon Mar 19, 2018 1:18 pm

Google maps (which a lot of businesses/people use as a sat nav) currently has a stretch of the A6 in the Grove marked as a footpath or dirt track.
Sat nav-ing with it will detour via various side roads. :D :?

Given that Chester Rd and Grundey Street are both 'One Way', that might work for traffic northbound to Stockport .... but what about southbound A6 traffic ??

... nb sat navs generally choose 'A' roads (A6) over minor roads .... so it shouldn't happen, unless you change the default settings to include minor roads, but even then it wouldn't be the shorter distance :!:

by the way, Google maps also shows the brook running through Poynton from Worth cottages along Park Lane and Parklands Way as feeding into the bottom of Poynton Pool. It DOESN'T .... it skirts under the A523, and feeds into Norbury Brook .... come back Ordnance Survey ... we miss you !!
