Poynton ticket office was closed yesterday due to an IT issue.

I was late for the train on Sunday so approached the guard before boarding to ask to buy a ticket when he was free.

He served me first as soon as he had finished with the doors.

Strickly speaking I should have delayed my journey for 3 hours to buy a ticket.

Traveled into and out of Poynton this week for Manchester. All occasions ticket collector on board for payment.

What a load of complicated RUBBISH.

As already stated, lots of people DON’T want a smart phone. Also, these ticket machines are notoriously unreliable. Another “rip off”
