Regarding EGCD'S comment that a temporary break is a 'ridiculous' idea, it was not a suggestion for a solution but as a managed emergency option if and when needed. Maybe a couple of days work whereas the permanent structural solution will probably take weeks when it is attempted.
Looking forward, I think the responsibility for the frequent problem stretch under the overbridge lies with Stockport, not CEC. It is just a few metres inside the Stockport boundary and it has been TFGM issuing the traffic warnings when I have seen them.

An 80 year old man, laden with shopping gets off the 392 bus near Tern Drive. We note the SIDS speed cam is on the lamp post. 7 of the 16 vehicles that passed exceeded the 35mph speed limit. It took 5 minutes to get a gap in the traffic to help the guy over the road. Is it time a proper speed trap is used and the monies raised used to repair Fountainless Place cobblestones?.

Money from speeding fines goes to the government.

What a difference this road has made, we don't use it very often like most people it's usually high days and holidays , we dropped someone off at the airport this morning it took less than 15mins there and 15mins back traveling from the Fountainless place ,admittedly the road was very quiet at 7am but still it was a great improvement on the old route via Staneylands :D
