Park Lane Power Cuts

Postby AnotherWhingerLike_U » Sun Oct 06, 2019 2:55 pm

Some shops on Park Lane have been suffering random power cuts. Not all shops, but Cask Tavern was one affected. Like a single phase had gone down. A lot of Electricity truck there overnight last week. Has the problem been sorted?

Not yet, they visited businesses inc the Cask on Fri to explain the situation. There is another 20m of corroded old 3 phase cable to be replaced, a joint & section were replaced last week. The problem/repairs are taking longer due to the block paviors being laid on up to a foot of concrete

When I spoke to the chaps who were laying the shared space, they said they had left a nightmare for the Utility Companies.

Bet the floods have accelerated the deterioration of the cable.
Prompts the question: Is the one foot of concrete being replaced? I don't mean as rubble. 8-)
Maybe with a bit of keying in with reinforcing mesh ready for the next unsuspecting archaeologist. :?
