Theft by person viewing house in Hazel Grove?

I've thought a bit about posting this as I don't want to alarm anybody. I did want to share it though in case it joined up some dots.

We are currently selling our house and viewings are being arranged through a local estate agent. We usually handle the viewings ourselves by doing a quick tour and then letting the person or people viewing "wander around" on their own a bit. I had a situation last week where I got the feeling that the person viewing seemed to be spending a long time in our bedroom (I was downstairs but could hear him walking about). After that viewing I thought some things may have gone missing. We had another yesterday morning where I think we may have lost something else.

Hopefully this is either a one off, or I'm mistaken. Like I said though, I wanted to share it in case others have had a similar experience.

Thoughts?

That's dreadful, Nikki. Please let the estate agent know. They will have contact details -at least a name & phone number - for the people who viewed. I'm not suggesting anyone is accused but at least the agent can keep an eye on any future viewings they might do. I say this as someone who worked for an estate agent. We always did escorted viewings & would never let anyone in a room on their own.

I would not really have thought it was normal for someone to be left unattended in an occupied bedroom during a house viewing - I would advise you to stay where you can see what they are doing in the future.
