Asda new entrance

Postby Mike » Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:09 pm

I was driving past Asda this morning for the first time in a while and was surprised to see that they still haven't finished off the new entrance.

Anybody have any idea what the hold up is?

Apologies if this has already been covered in another thread.

I've updated the above link as I wasn't pointing to the thread I intended to. Be warned that navigation on their forum is a bit flakey.

There's been quite a bit of activity lately!

I think they've given up on only working during school holidays and have decided to get on with it!

The green BT box which was supposed to be holding it all up has disappeared.

Rumour has it that Asda have bought the church and the pub adjoining the new entrance - dunno what the plan is exactly though.

Indeed. I went to work that way today (see another thread for why) and the entrance road seems to be taking shape nicely.

The green BT box has re-appeared!

Actually, I don't think it had gone in the first place - I think I'm just losing me marbles! :o

Anyhow, things have moved on a bit with kerbs and what not put in place.

I walked past the Pentecostal Church the other day, and its vestibule seemed to be a fairly chaotic workroom - which made me think that the building's no longer being used for its previous purpose.

On the other hand, perhaps the church is just, coincidentally, giving its building a makeover ...
