Re: Bypass web site
Your link doesn't work, nedsram.
Or rather it gets you on to Stockport MBC's website, but to a notice which tells you that the page isn't available!
I hear on an authoritative grapevine, though, that, assuming it isn't "Osborned out" next year, it'll be very modest, a road for "austerity Britain" - no whacking roundabouts or grand civil engineering, just a basic road, with traffic lights at the major intersections such as the A6 and A523 ...

Thanks, nedsram - that one works fine! Though it doesn't tell you a lot when you get there ...

Re: Bypass web site
The web site has reverted to the previous owners:
http://www.semmms.info/a6/
So far there is no news on the latest delay - nor can I confirm or deny rumours that it has been scrapped altogether.

Re: Bypass web site
The web site has now been updated to say that funding was refused:
Following the Government Spending review and the announcement from the Secretary of State for Transport on the 27th October 2010, the three Councils are disappointed that this did not include the SEMMMS A6 to Manchester Airport relief road scheme.
The Councils still consider this an important key priority for promoting growth in Greater Manchester and will continue to have discussions with the Department for Transport to drive the scheme forward.

Re: Bypass web site
It's back but in limited form, and only contains outline details of the airport to A6 stretch.
