New Homes Bonus - Poynton priorities

Postby nedsram » Wed Oct 17, 2018 7:53 pm

Cheshire East Council’s cabinet has approved a £2m new homes bonus fund to assist communities where new housing developments have been built between 2011 and 2017. The scheme, which will run for 2 years, is designed to achieve positive benefits based on locally-identified needs. The priorities for each of the areas are being set by 7 geographical award groups, made up of elected members and a representative from the town and parish councils.

The fund will give local councils and the voluntary, community and faith sector an opportunity to apply for projects that can make a lasting difference to communities and as such the minimum grant figure is set at £10,000 with no upper limit.

For Poynton the total allocation of funding is £67,776 for each of the two financial years. The Poynton award group area is made up of Poynton and the surrounding villages of Adlington, Disley, Lyme Handley, Mottram St. Andrew and Prestbury.

The Local Area Partnership is now inviting applications to the fund for the Poynton award group area and has attached the agreed priorities which projects must meet when applying for funding. The closing date for applications is 31st December 2018.

CVS has been working with the Council in relation to the New Homes Bonus and is offering free funding support to all organisations wishing to bid to the first round of this fund, including non-members. To access support please email enquiries@cvsce.org.uk.

The 7 award groups have been meeting throughout October and once the final group has met all information will be included on the Council’s website, until then if you have any queries please contact nhb@cheshireeast.gov.uk
